Power Plate
® Acceleration Training

Urban Moves is currently the ONLY official Power Plate ® Authorized Training Center in central Ohio. To achieve this status our instructors have completed intensive training in Chicago at the Power Plate Institute. These classes have become the hottest trend in vibration training from Harrods in London to Madonna in Hollywood!

The Power Plate® is a machine that vibrates to cause muscle contractions of 25 to 50 times per second. When combined with traditional exercises such as squats, push-ups and lunges, a complete strength training circuit can be completed in 25 minutes. Research has shown that the Power Plate® not only increases muscle strength, but also increases flexibility, releases beneficial hormones, promotes circulation and increases bone density.

Personal Training Motivating


Our personal trainers work with men and women of all ages with varying fitness levels and goals. Certified trainers meet with each client to design an individualized program. Each program will work to restore natural and normal movement to the body, leading to improved muscle strength and greater cardiovascular endurance. Clients may desire a disciplined, personal and supportive approach to:

  • lose body fat
  • tone and stretch
  • recover from an injury or illness
  • get in shape after a pregnancy
  • prepare for an athletic activity
  • reclaim health and vitality

Trainers will not only help participants to become excited about exercise, they have extensive knowledge of body alignment as well as body mechanics. Through a deep understanding of anatomy they provide a supportive environment for their students to exercise.

Pilates Mat - Flexible

Pilates mat classes are perfect for all ages and fitness levels and help to build strong, graceful and flexible bodies. Pilates is a method of total body conditioning that emphasizes proper alignment, centering, concentration, control, precision, breathing, and flowing movement that results in increased flexibility, strength, body awareness, energy, and improved mental concentration.

The one-hour class focuses on the abdomen and back muscles that help keep the body balanced and are essential to providing support for the spine. In particular, Pilates exercises teach awareness of breath and alignment of the spine, and strengthen the deep torso muscles, which are important to help alleviate and prevent back pain.

Pillar PowerFor the Core

Pillar Power is a class designed to focus entirely on the “power center”- the muscles of the abdomen and back. Using the underlying principle that the arms and legs can’t work efficiently without a stable power center.

The MVe utilizes all the principles of Joseph Pilates while in a seated or standing position. The TRX was designed by a Navy Seal to train men and women in combat. With the TRX one uses his or her own body weight against gravity, and could best be described as “suspended” Pilates.

The blend of these two apparatus is the perfect way to experience core training. It is recommended that participants be in good physical condition and currently engaged in a regular exercise program.

Boot CampIntensity with Fun

Don't let the name deceive you! Although this class is a high intensity aerobic workout, we do this in the spirit of fun. The class combines endurance conditioning and strength training while utilizing elements of the outdoors along with jump ropes, bands, weights, etc. The aim is to keep the heart rate high and work up a good sweat! This class will challenge even the most seasoned athlete.

This 45-minute class is for most fitness levels. Participants should be currently in a regular exercise program. Proper shoes for running, and a water bottle during high temperatures are strongly advised.

ZumbaLatin Fusion


Zumba is a fusion of Latin and International music-dance themes that create a dynamic, exciting, effective fitness system. The routines feature aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. Zumba utilizes the principles of fitness interval training and resistance training to maximize caloric output, fat burning, and total body toning.
